Karrueche Tran Hosts Inaugural Ruechi Beauty Wellness Retreat in Mexico

The first ever Ruechi Beauty wellness retreat was hosted at Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, an adults only property perched on one of the most storied islands in Mexico.

Guests were transferred across turquoise waters by catamaran, greeted at a private port where each woman was welcomed by her personal butler, setting the tone for days defined by care and attention.

From the soft neutral palettes of the staff’s attire to the way the ocean came into view as soon as you stepped inside the main space, Feng Shui flowed through every corner, nothing accidental.

But, the retreat’s location held deeper meaning than even its natural beauty suggests. Isla Mujeres is not just an island off the coast of Cancun, it’s sacred ground.

During the group’s wellness walk at Punta Sur, you could feel that history in the air.

At this location, the ancient Mayans built a ceremonial temple in honor of the goddess Ixchel. The small sanctuary was a place of pilgrimage for women arriving from various parts of the Mayan world, and they would come to pray for things like fertility, health, good fishing, or rain.

It is considered a place with a great mystical charge where you can connect with the history and cultural essence of the island.

In that moment, Karrueche’s offering felt less like a modern invention and more like a continuation of something ancient. Ruechi Beauty is not simply about skin care, it’s about reclaiming rituals of wellness that connect us back to ourselves, to our ancestors, and to one another.

This retreat was an experience designed to honor wellness, beauty, and intentional living.

Guests began their days with immersive wellness activities, some crafted exclusively for the retreat, while others were offerings from the resort itself. Guided yoga and meditation classes, gratitude journaling and mystic symphonies set the tone for presence and mindfulness and encouraged introspection.

But perhaps the most striking element of the retreat was not the setting or even the activities, but Ruechi Beauty founder Karrueche Tran.

She was not a distant figurehead. She was present, as a woman deeply invested in the shared experience. And she was joined by family members, including her mother, who witnessed firsthand the labor and love her daughter has poured into the brand. “Especially with it being my first retreat, it’s just sort of cool to have them as, like, my backbone. It’s not often that they’re able to come to work with me or get to see what I do in real time,” Karrueche shared.

It became clear that Ruechi Beauty, like this retreat, was not built from expertise or the claim of a guru, it was born from love: for herself, for women, for the power of ritual and self care.

A highlight moment was the skincare workshop where Karrueche stood before the group to guide them through a hands-on session using her Ruechi Beauty products.

And while she shared, “I get uncomfortable sometimes, like, speaking in front of people. I just get, like, little nerves and I just get kind of awkward sometimes,” she chose to lead the session anyway, choosing vulnerability over perfection.

Watching her guide the group through Ruechi Beauty rituals was to witness someone stretching beyond comfort, embodying the same growth she invited others on the trip to embrace.

Her hands-on approach made it clear that Ruechi Beauty is a living commitment to wellness not as performance but as practice.

Her presence was disarmingly genuine. At moments she was simply a daughter, with her mother seated proudly amongst the group, sharing in the milestone. At others, she was a friend, laughing in conversation. This duality of Emmy Award-winning actress and wellness founder, yet also daughter, friend, and retreat participant, created an intimacy that few brand leaders are willing, or able, to cultivate.

It made the retreat not just about a product line, but about a woman’s evolution, and the ways that evolution can ripple outward to touch others.

Evenings at the retreat carried their own magic. After days filled with wellness activities, guests arrived to beautifully curated dinners that felt like ceremonies. Long tables were dressed with arrangements intended to make each woman feel honored, and the resort staff executed every detail with a warmth that went beyond service, it was hospitality as an act of love.

These dinners became the heartbeat of the retreat, echoing a tradition as old as humanity itself: women gathering, sharing food and stories, to be nourished in every sense.

This retreat was not just another influencer led activation. This is brand as community care. “I think it’s because I live a lot in my phone. I live a lot on social media. And, I can get distracted from that a lot, but I also see the beauty in real life. And so, wanting to bring that energy back,” Karrueche shared. “We can’t do a retreat online. Even if we did a Zoom with all these girls and we were all chatting, you’re not going to get the same energy. I think people just forget what’s real.”

The future of beauty and wellness is not found in boardrooms alone, but in gatherings and lived experience. When the retreat ended, guests left not only with memories of turquoise waters and candlelit dinners, but with a reminder of their own wholeness.

For Karrueche, the retreat was a declaration that she is more than the scrutiny she’s endured and more than the roles she’s played on screen. She is a woman who has turned her platform into a vessel for light.

The retreat was not about accolades or publicity, it was about crafting moments where women could reclaim their time, celebrate themselves, and feel the reverberation of centuries of feminine wisdom through a modern, accessible experience.
