Born to immigrant parents, with her mother hailing from Jamaica and her father from Trinidad, Maxwell grew up in an environment filled with love and encouragement. When asked how she ended up back in New York, she admitted that she initially had her sights set on LA, but fate had other plans, leading her to the bright lights of New York City and landing her a spot with the legendary New York Knicks. Since then, she has worked extensively as a dancer on stage, film, and Broadway, having been a backup dancer for some of the world’s biggest stars.

Dance remained her constant companion amidst life’s twists and turns. “It gave me something to work on, a goal, and a dream, and it gave me passion, so I think that has fueled me throughout my whole life,” she revealed, emphasizing the profound impact dance had on her journey.

But, despite her love affair with dance, Candace couldn’t shake off the acting bug.
