Saidah Nairobi Talks Dancing with Beyonce & Evolving As Her Own Artist

With a dance career that reads like a dream resume, Saidah Nairobi is ready to explore her own path as an multi-disciplinary artist.
Breaking into the competitive world of professional dance is no easy feat, but Saidah’s determination and skill opened many doors. Her first gig with recording artist The Dream set the tone for a whirlwind career. Yet, it was the opportunity to work with Beyoncé that she’s most grateful for.
“I really feel like there was a confidence that I didn’t have before I started working with her that I really tapped in to once I got in that world,” Saidah said. From gracing stages across the globe to delivering iconic performances seen by millions, she honed her craft in a way that few dancers ever achieve.
While dance was her foundation, Saidah always knew she had more to give.
Over time, her creativity blossomed into music, and she’s released a new single, We Are, a record Saidah feels reflects a shared experience for many black Americans.
“You make music that means something…that’s the dopest thing to me about the power of a singer, of a vocalist, is bringing something to the world, a message,” she explained.
To learn more about Saidah’s story, in her own words, her memoir Leap of Faith: The Journey of A Dream is now available.
