Kalyn Hill Promoted to Global Marketing Manager at LYS Beauty

Kalyn went from juggling college classes and a job at Sephora to helping lead one of the most exciting clean beauty cosmetic brands in the world.

Kalyn Hill embodies the kind of ambition that doesn’t wait for the perfect moment.

It shows up early, stays late, and builds something special out of whatever is available. For Kalyn, who has recently been appointed as Global Marketing Manager at LYS Beauty, that ambition showed up in 2021 when she made a bold decision to reach out directly to LYS Founder Tisha Thompson and put herself forward for a role that didn’t yet have her name on it.

When Kalyn joined LYS in 2021 as a Beauty Marketing Coordinator, she wasn’t arriving at a fully formed company with a corner office waiting for her. She was stepping into the early, exhilarating chaos of a brand that was just finding its footing — a team of roughly five people, including Tisha, working to bring a vision for clean, inclusive cosmetics to life.

Kalyn wore many hats, and was doing this while simultaneously finishing her degree at Georgia State University and working as a Beauty Advisor at Sephora.

From early on, Kalyn had a clear sense of where she wanted to be, which was very obviously in the beauty industry, and her time as a Beauty Advisor at Sephora prepared her for this path. She learned how consumers engage with products, what drives purchase decisions, and how brand storytelling translates from a campaign to a shelf. It was the kind of ground-level insight that no marketing textbook can replicate, and it gave her a foundation that would prove invaluable when she stepped into the world of brand building.

When the opportunity to join LYS came along, Kalyn recognized it immediately for what it was: a rare chance to get in at the beginning of something impactful. Joining a founding team is a bet on yourself as much as it is on the brand, and she placed that bet with confidence.

After 5 years in business, LYS has grown significantly, expanding its product line, strengthening its presence at Sephora, and building a loyal community who see themselves reflected in the brand. And, in her first full time role out of college, Kalyn has grown right alongside it.

She didn’t spend years climbing a corporate ladder at a legacy beauty conglomerate before getting a seat at the table. She helped build the table.

Her 2026 promotion to Global Marketing Manager is more than a title change, it’s recognition of the institutional knowledge she carries and the creative leadership she brings to the team.

“The recognition means so much to me,” Kalyn shared in a statement to Queens At Work. “I started at LYS as an eager intern, excited to get my hands on every part of the business and learn as much as I could. Over the past five years, I’ve grown not only within my role but also in my connection to the brand and the people I work with. It truly feels like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.”

In a market crowded with cosmetics brands all competing for the same shelf space and the same consumer attention, differentiation is everything. For Kalyn, what sets LYS apart is not just the clean formulation or the inclusive shade range, it’s the philosophy beneath the product. And it’s a philosophy she doesn’t just market. She lives it.

LYS, which stands for Love Yourself, was built on the belief that beauty should enhance who you are, not conceal it. The beauty industry has historically profited from insecurity, selling coverage, correction, and transformation. LYS is making a deliberate choice to flip the script. The brand’s campaigns have increasingly pushed against the conventional beauty narrative, centering real people.

For Kalyn, that mission took root at exactly the right moment in her life. “I started working at LYS when I was 20, an age that’s really pivotal in discovering who you are and learning how to love yourself,” she says. “Being part of a brand built around the message ‘Love Yourself’ has been a constant reminder to practice that every day, even when it’s challenging.”

That personal connection is inseparable from the work itself. “I believe you can’t authentically market a brand or product if you’re not living the message yourself,” she adds. It’s a conviction that shapes everything from campaign direction to the way LYS shows up in conversation with its community. “We focus on celebrating individuality, confidence, and the idea that beauty isn’t about hiding who you are, but embracing it.”

As her new title suggests, Kalyn has shared that LYS Beauty is setting its sights on international expansion with plans to bring the brand’s mission to global markets, and that global stage is already taking shape.

LYS Beauty recently launched on TikTok Shop UK and brought the brand to London, with new product releases also on the horizon. For Kalyn, the expansion is about something far greater than entering new markets. “What excites me most about bringing LYS to an international audience is the opportunity to connect with people across different cultures through a message that’s truly universal,” she shared.

“The idea of ‘Love Yourself’ resonates everywhere, but the way people express confidence and individuality can look different depending on where they are in the world. Expanding globally allows us to celebrate those differences while still staying rooted in the same core mission. For us, it’s not just about expanding distribution, it’s about expanding the impact of the message.”

As she’s stepped into the Global Marketing Manager role, Kalyn’s core vision for the brand hasn’t shifted, but its scale has. “My vision for the brand hasn’t changed at its core. I’m still deeply committed to continuing LYS’s message of loving and fully expressing yourself,” she says.

“What has evolved is the scale of how we share that message. Now, the focus is on bringing that philosophy to a larger, global stage and finding new ways to connect with more people around the world while staying true to what makes the brand so authentic.”

LYS products are available online at lysbeauty.com and in store at Sephora.
