The story of Deco Lovers began when Genesis was fired from her job at 19 after getting pregnant. Genesis decided at that moment that she would rather work for herself than to continue dedicating so much of herself to someone else’s business.

She and her sister started renting inflatables and quickly recognized a gap in the event decoration industry. They observed that balloon decorations were often undervalued and lacked the professional recognition afforded to other art forms, so they set out to make a change.

Deco Lovers quickly gained acclaim for their innovative designs, incorporating elements such as thematic sculptures, intricate arches, and bespoke centerpieces. They’ve amassed a significant audience on social media platforms of millions of followers who admire their fun content sharing their work.

But understanding that the future of balloon artistry depended on proper education, Genesis and Iravid took a monumental step beyond craftmanship by establishing the Deco Lovers Institute. This institution is distinguished as the first and only balloon design school in the United States approved by the Florida Department of Education.

The Deco Lovers Institute offers a comprehensive diploma program in Professional Balloon Design encompassing over 80 hours of instruction. The curriculum is crafted to cover both the artistic and business aspects of balloon decoration; students dive into various techniques, from basic designs to advanced installations, while also learning about business management, marketing strategies, and client relations.
