Loren Jones Brings Chicago Jump Club Back for Season Two

When it comes to fitness communities, it’s easy to think of the usual suspects: run clubs, cycling squads, maybe a calisthenics crew. But Loren “Lo” Jones is flipping the script on what group fitness can look and feel like. Last year, she launched Chicago Jump Club, an outdoor jump rope experience.
And now it’s back for season two!

Every Saturday at 10 a.m., the shores of Belmont Harbor come alive, and for 30 minutes Lo leads a group through a weekly workout ritual of high energy jump rope intervals. There’s truly a space for all levels in this club. It’s welcoming and feels less intimidating and more like a celebration of movement.
These classes will be offered at $5 drop-in classes or a $20 monthly membership. And it’s Bring Your Own Rope (BYOR) — or grab one on-site for $10.

Lo isn’t your average fitness coach, she’s a former competitive jump roper, having competed nationally from third grade to college. And she holds two degrees in exercise science.
Chicago Jump Club was launched with the mission to make fitness accessible, fun, and communal, and Lo’s background and social media savvy helped the club grow from a grassroots idea into a local phenomenon. What started as a free class shared on social media turned into a viral movement that landed her on Chicago’s local news.

She’s taken her knowledge and passion for jump roping and turned it into something truly special for Chicago’s fitness scene. As the jumpers kept showing up, Lo knew this wasn’t just a trend, but a need being met. People are craving spaces to move, connect, and feel good in their bodies. And that’s exactly what she gives them.
Chicago Jump Club has grown rapidly, attracting hundreds of people who are drawn to Lo’s instruction style. There are no mirrors, no metrics, no egos. There’s no judgment, no pressure to be a pro. Just show up, grab a rope, and get moving.
